The decade from 1987 through 1997 brought us the sitcom Married With Children. It was a fictional account of the antics of a hilarious family. One of the characters was Kelly Bundy, portrayed by Christina Applegate.

The character was a beautiful yet shallow girl child and the subtle nuances presented by Ms Applegate were sometimes stunning given the schtick and always understated.

I enjoyed the series immensely at a time when I had little about which to smile let alone laugh.

Christina Applegate is an American Actress who was born November 25, 1971. She did a number of films in her adult life winning a prime time Emmy as well as nominations for Golden Globe awards and a Tony award.

I also particularly enjoyed her performance in Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead which came out around 1991.

So today is National Christina Day. It is observed each May 9 annually.

While I have seen more of the works of others, I have always had a special place in my heart for Christina Applegate because of the character Kelly Bundy. When you say the name Christina to me only two people come to my mind. Christina Applegate is one of them.
