National Bird Day 2019

I try to attact and feed birds in my yard. I sometimes suffer bombardment by various clumps of droppings which strike my truck and sometimes make me preturbed with birds in general.

By and large though I would rather have them than not and my frustrations with the squirrels eating the seed placed for birds is another preventive in my existence.

Today is Bird Day, held each May 4 to promote the conservation of avian species and habitat.

It originates in 1894 by one Charles A Babcock who was the Superintendent of Schools in Oil City, Pennsylvania.

By and large I think we should attempt to acommodate birds because I think they have a lot of barriers and hurdles trying to eek out an existence ... particularly in more urban innercity type environments.
