    Aunt and Uncle
All of my aunts and uncles have passed on. This makes me "Uncle Dave" to the next generation. I try to be a good uncle and participate in all the little "to dos" my nieces and nephews schedule during family holidays.

National Aunt and Uncle's Day is celebrated annually on July 26th.

It is an unofficial holiday dedicated to honoring the special role that aunts and uncles play as mentors, friends, and caregivers in family lives.

I don't claim to be a role model but I suppose this position is inevitable. I have advice on occasions. I invariably share life lessons.

I provide insights and safe spaces for discussions about things outside of parent-child dynamics.

I attempt to be a caretaker and look after all my great nieces and nephews. On occasion there are joyful childhood memories, and bring laughter to family gatherings.Mental Health Buffer: Clinical research notes that supportive extended family members like aunts and uncles can positively aid child development and emotional attachment.

All in all I try to be a good "Uncle Dave" and be there when I am requested.
