When I was a child in the cub scouts back in Aragona Village at Virginia Beach Virginia I learned morse code symbology.
I was highly motivated in this endeavor and dare say the effort was totally wasted on a boy with no ambition but an inquisitive mind and proficient intellect.
Ideally this would have been placed into practice but all I did was learn the dots and dashes to a level of exhibition but I never attempted to exploit this skill in any manner of work place for my own benefit.
I dare say it was paramount to the dabbling in amateur radio for nothing I also pursued later in my life.
Today is Morse Code Day.
It is observed each April 27 — which corresponds to the birthday of Samuel Morse — who was born April 27, 1791 and was the co-inventor of the telegraph and the Morse code signaling system.
This day honors the historic communication method of dots and dashes, which paved the way for modern digital communication.
