The threads are discussing the fact that persons in the United States have more debt than ever and even go so far as to tout 'money disorders' as the culpret ... i.e., that provision of a way to affix blame where blame isn't which is so common in our 21st century schizoid snowflake mentality debtors.
I was once in debt beyond all control. I owed so much that I never thought I would retire much of it at all. I found myself primarily immersed in finance charges and interest and then there were those particular predators like Discover Card and Palmetto Citizens Credit Union up to a point at time when I sold my soul in exchange for a payout with a private refi under my own terms.
Take that financial institution scum.
So now I have my mortgage. I maintain less than $1000 in credit card balances and there is a revolving credit line which allows me to live beyond my means when the whim arises.
And I don't need any stupid credit union embarassing me publicly nor some dimwit female vice president of Discover Card attempting to manipulate me with a lot of capricious ballooning interest charges.
There comes a time when you have to take charge of your life and not try to affix blame on some nonexistent 'money disorder' or other imaginary malady du jour masquerading for a failure to enact a little fiscal responsibility.
