I've noticed a style riding around on the streets where I live.
Individuals sporting dew rags on mopeds.
Pondering the fashion statement I am sent to my past when my good friend lost his driving privileges for about 10 years and rode a minibike — essentially a lawnmower motor attached to a small frame with throttle and seat.
I keep wondering if these persons I see now are of similar circumstances of my friend who rose above his problem past to gain several vehicles having passed in his monte carlo less than a mile from his house.

Now I could never ride a minibike because I think I'm too heavy ... and a moped would likely be out of the question as well unless it was one of those 500 cc things I've been looking at.
Besides, the entire notion of riding a motorized bike of any kind is pretty much anathema to my travel standards, being a creature of those comforts afforded by enclosed cabs with upholstery, good suspensions, and air conditioning.
A dew rag ... though probably appropriate to my bald sweating noggin would likewise be unlikely as I decline to assume that ethnic connotation it implies.
Suffice it to say I'll remain the old fellow I am and driving a real vehicle with seat belts I seldom use and air conditioning on maximum.
It's not really a redneck thing; more so one of creature comfort and to a lesser extent — style.
