Don Knotts was one of those ubiquitous characters from my childhood and early adulthood.
I regret that once I attained what I mistakenly felt was maturity and sophistication that I was too complicated for his humor.
The award winning actor and comedian was born Jesse Donald Knotts on July 21, 1924 and passed on February 24, 2006 at age 81.
He is interred in Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles; in one of those areas I once frequented in a younger "wild child" day.
He was on the Andy Griffith show as deputy Barny Fife, but also appeared all over the television with the likes of Red Skelton, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, George Burns, and of course the classic 'Mr Furley' on Three's Company as well as innumerable voice work in animations and starring in movies and such.
