Though I'm certainly still no Gordon Ramsay ... as time went on my skill level improved — but I am still one to commit the occasional culinary faux pas with varying consequences.
Thus far I have escaped all major accidents and have suffered a few relatively minor burns and one nasty palm laceration while trying to cut up a rutabaga.
Today is National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day.
It is celebrated each June 13 every year to celebrate all of us klutzes in the kitchen.
Oh brother ...
Some of those among us have dropped our favorite crock on the floor or seasoned meat with baking soda instead of salt or worse.
I personally have ended up with a spectacular flambée when all I was seeking was a sauté.
I have certainly had more than my fair share of these untoward moments preparing food.
So to those of we who are better served eating instead of preparing food, this day is for US.
