It's Sting's Birthday 2020

    sting
Normally I don't have much to say about performers who adopt single names as their identification trademarks ... you know, cher, bono, sting, and so forth; but I listen to entirely too much police and sting to let Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner's birthday go by without a shout out to him.

So my first encounter with Sting was the Police performing at the Russell House on the campus of the University of SC way back in the 1970s. I must admit they took me by surprise because I'd not heard a sound quite like theirs prior to that time.

I suppose it may have been the beginning of the end of my old AM oldies stint and after all it was just prior to my enlistment in the Navy. All it took was my late friend Jerry Landry to send me over the edge and thus was the beginning of my rock and roll and subsequent heavy metal stages.

He's received accolades for his art and he's been afforded the opportunity to do all the leftist libtard stuff he's ever wished to engage and still maintain a following of individuals like me ... crossover fans if you will. Anyway, I've been known to kick off playlists that run for hours of both sting solo and the police.

So happy birthday Sting. You're older than me, possess a far greater and more eclectic experiential world inventory than I, and are still here. So am I !
