International Scribble Day 2022

Dave and Mom Scribble
I have been known to scribble on occasion.

Typically it's a reaction to frustration, boredom, or anxiety.

I don't really read anything into it.

There are graphic art forms based on scribbling as well. Some of the portraits created using this technique are quite striking.

There have been occasions when I have utilized a scribble technique on various illustrations for the blog.

Sometimes they make it to publication and other times they do not.

Today is International Scribble Day. It is observed on March 27th each year and is all about celebrating the creativity and art associated with scribbling.

Pretty much anyone can scribble with or without other abilities. It can be a stress relieving act for pent up angst.

Scribbling is not doodling. The underlying difference is intent. Doodling results in strictly artistic forms and scribbling may be artistic or the turn of a phrase.

Regardless, you might experiement with scribbling should you find yourself with pad, paper, and of course preoccupation.

Happy International Scribble Day to you.
