International Day of Sign Languages 2026

I once envisioned myself a sign language expert.

A position had become open as an instructor of the skill and you know — thoughts of grandeur filled my brain.

Et cetera. Et cetera. Et cetera.

Today is The International Day of Sign Languages.

It is observed each Septemhber 23 to raise awareness of the populace regarding the importance of signing in the realm of mass communications.

The day commemorates the founding of the World Federation of the Deaf in 1951.
