Yeah, I'm a hygiene freak. I have been known to bathe multiple times daily and have no qualms with jumping in the shower and lathering up at the drop of a hat.
I wasn't always this way but I think that invariable funk generated with the passage of time is impetus for getting in there and attempting to be rid of it all on a regular basis.
I never was one to take to the nickname "scrounge" in the context of hygiene nor that of "creeping crud" which is another descriptor my daddy chose to direct at me periodically when I was a child.
So now I am left with a distinct preference for smelling like ivory soap.
So today we have International Bath Day. It goes down annually on June 14.
It is observed in honor of the Greek Scientist and Mathematician Archimedes who found a method of determining the volume of a gold crown while bathing in a tub.
Archimedes noticed while taking a bath that the level of the water in the tub rose as he got in, and realized that this effect could be used to determine volume of a crown of which he had been tasked with determining the volume of gold contained therein.
His reaction to his discovery was "Eureka" which means "I have found it".
So there you have it, the day is yours whether you're just taking a dip in the local pond or bathing in a tub full of toys. Just be satisfied in that notion that cleanliness is next to godliness and we all know I can use all the help I can get.
