Happy Thanksgiving 2025
The Thanksgiving holiday commemorates the harvest festival celebrated by the Pilgrims at Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1621. It is now held in the US on the fourth Thursday in November.The day became a national holiday in 1863 when Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday during the Civil War.
This was mostly due to the efforts of writer and activist Sarah Josepha Hale, who also authored the poem "Mary had a little lamb" in 1829 which was published in her book, Poems for Our Children.
Let us give thanks.
