Today is the birthday of Woodrow Tracy Harrelson who was born July 23, 1961 in Midlands, Texas. He portrayed Woody Boyd on the hit sitcom, Cheers "Cheers" of which I was not a fan — although we did have our certain moments. He is pretty much a wide open fellow who imparts these characteristics to some of those portrayals upon which he embarks.
Some of the more daring roles he has undertaken include Larry Flynt and Lyndon B Johnson. I really wasn't a fan of the comedy White Men Can’t Jump nor the drama Indecent Proposal. Then he went and did it for me personally ...
He engaged Oliver Stone’s Wildman in Natural Born Killers with Juliette Lewis, Robert Downey, Jr, and Tommy Lee Jones. The film features the deadly antics of a couple named Mickey and Mallory Knox. They were both victims of traumatic childhoods who become psychopathic lovers and mass murderers at the whim of a sensationalist mass media. I swear it was a roller coaster ride of insanity I simply could not look away. It subjected me to imagery I had never seen on any screen before, big or small.
Anyway, I have decided that Woody Harrelson is one of my more favored actors due to his range and that which he has already shown me.
