J K Rowling is the author of the Harry Potter series. She was born in Yate, Gloucestershire, England on July 31, 1965. This would place her at 60 years old. She has written under the pen names J K Rowling and Robert Galbraith and is a noted author, philanthropist, producer, and screenwriter. Received a BA from the University of Exeter and Moray House School of Education and Sport. She writes within fantasy drama, young adult, fiction, and crime fiction.
