Hail to Thee Oh J.R.R. Tolkein

When I was in high school I bought a copy of The Hobbit from the reading club list and it was delivered about a week later.

In it I saw a rather lengthy paragraph admonishing not to plagiarize the work and it was so petty, uppity, aloof, and self-righeous to the point that I ripped my book in several pieces up the spine and ripped those in half then tossed the various pieces in trashcans across the campus.

Tolkien Reading Day happens this day each year under the auspices of "The Tolkien Society". It exists to encourage reading of J. R. R. Tolkien.
