First commercial Concorde flight

Back in my flying days I noted the Concorde at a few domestic airports and often wondered how the flight would be. I was told it was loud and fast but never indulged myself othe aircraft.

Far be it from me to race around during domestic flights. I was sad to find the airplane being taken out of but it seems that supersonic transports were impractical from the standpoint of having a cadre of regular paying customers who both sought and could afford the luxury. Fuel costs in these days would likely have been increasingly cost preventative.

Concorde

With a sonic boom as it traveled through the atmosphere at supersonic speed, the Concorde, a commercial aircraft built with funding from the British and French governments, began regular service on this day in 1976. The Concorde operated its final commercial flight on October 24, 2003 (with British Airways), followed by its absolute final ferry flight to Bristol Filton Airport on November 26, 2003.
