Female Egyptian Anchors Ordered to Lose Weight
From the 'fuglier than thou' file we have a hilarious development out of Egypt, that once forward thinking model for modern Islam turned moronic fundamentalist state.The Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) has suspended eight female anchors and instructed them to lose weight within a month.
The state-run broadcaster decreed that the offending women can return to the air when they achieve something called "appropriate appearance."

The outcry from feminist movements has naturally been great.
It seems that these hefiers have been described at "disgusting and repulsive" by some of their cohorts and the entire debacle would be fodder for all kinds of ridicule were not the livelihoods of the offending broadcasters at stake.
Now then, in the classic California USA model of "it's okay to be stupid as long as you look good" it would appear that for these girls use of a burqa may be just what the totalitarian broadcasting entity ordered ...
And perhaps a nice weight watchers membership all around.
