Doodle Day 2002

I've been a doodler all my life.

I recall in elementary and high school my classroom papers would likely be festooned with various scribbles which were the result of something going on of the imaginary and multi tasking variety ...

Even back then.

I never got in trouble. Nobody ever inquired regarding them. I just figured they were of insufficient merit.

Today is Doodle Day. Annually persons who feel they are famous submit various doodles to mark the day. These are later auctioned off on ebay to support those suffering from epilepsy.

I don't think I'll be submitting anything to the auction competition.

While I understand the need for monetary support of those who deal with epilepsy.

The crux of the observance of Doodle Day for me personally is the creation of that which formerly did not exist.

That artistic hair running through me tickles me into action every now and then. Even if my efforts aren't all that.

I feel the spirit of the day is what is important. So I did a mona lisa doodle in an informal technique called jester.

My late friend Dewitt Casey taught me about it a long time ago.

Boy, I still miss him too.
