This event is known as a 'blood Moon' lunar eclipse and occurs when the Moon is full.
This phenomenon whereby the moon in total eclipse appears red in color from sunlight filtered and refracted by the Earth's atmosphere.
The red color is believed by the more eclectic of us to represent strength, passion, and emotional cleansing.
In such traditions, this event is linked to balance and inner growth, reminding people to let go of what no longer supports their well being.
This dramatic red glow of the moon marks the total lunar eclipse.
The shadow of the earth completely covers a full moon, filtering sunlight through our atmosphere and turning the lunar surface a deep shade red.
It's an interesting sight to behold.
