Birthday of Prince Andrew, Duke of York

It is the anniversary of the birthday of HRH Andrew Albert Christian Edward of the House of Windsor, Duke of York. He was born at Buckingham Palace in London, England on this day in 1960. He is divorced from Sarah Ferguson and has two children, the princesses Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

His parents were Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Elizabeth II.

He is a graduate of both Gordonstoun and the Britannia Royal Naval College and served in the Royal Navy from 1979 through 2001. He attained the rank of Vice Admiral and fought in the Falklands War.

Prince Andrew is a member of the British royal family. He is the third child and second son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and a younger brother of King Charles III. Andrew was born second in the line of succession to the British throne and is now eighth, and the first person in the line who is not a descendant of the reigning monarch.

His brother the King is attempting to rout him from the royal residences for which he is putting up a fight. He is suffering the consequences of that sequela borne of his association with Jeffrey Epstein and others.

Though unseemly, family is family and I personally find his own brother attempting to punish him to be petty and repugnant — totally lacking any semblence of behavior one might call 'regal'. One with his obvious lack of taste in women should be much more keenly aware of his public comportment than he is. However, the entire family is pretty much known for kicking family members, particularly when they are down.

In evidence I give you Sarah Margaret Ferguson and Diana Frances Spencer; who were both soundly kicked when they were down by much of the entire royal family. Some family lives are much more difficult than others.
