The last week of August brings us Be Kind to Humankind Week. The observance is the creation of one Lorraine Jara of Toms River, New Jersey who was inspired by her witness of tragedy to effort kindness as a motivation to do better by our fellows.
It has blossomed into an annual worldwide celebration of kindness which runs from August 25th through the 31st.
The aim is to remind people to make kind words and act the norm in social interaction in an attempt to support a thriving populace.
The week is composed of:
ThoughtfulThursday Forgive your foeFriday Speak kind wordsSaturday Sacrifice our wants for others needs Sunday Motorist considerationMonday Touch a heart Tuesday Willing to lend a hand Wednesday
Far be it from me to fail to promote such a lofty effort. Never let it be said that I'm against spreading a little kindness in the world. Happy Be Kind to Humankind Week to you.
