Be Humble Day 2025

I have never been one I consider to be 'humble'.
Not that I don't have my quiet and introspective moments.
I'm just not one of these meek types which shuns confrontation. Indeed, it may be said that I like the rough stuff and pursue the fray. Deferential and submissive respect simply are not my strong suits. I might beat your ass if you FAFO.
It's mostly that I keep a lot of that boisterousness of which I frequently partake under tight wraps in the name of acceptable public comportment. After all good manners have their place and I do make attempts at avoiding pretentiousness.
Today is Be Humble Day.
It's a February 22 observance which stresses the importance of being humble.
The orgins of this day are obscure.
Exercising self control and personal joy are virtues to be sure.
Sometimes I am boastful but this too I try to keep to myself in my old age.
So whether you're naturally humble or like me, having to force the issue today is that day where we are less rowdy and less assertive and much less braggadocio and more ...
Humble.
