Today is Be Bald and Be Free Day. It is an October 14 observance designed to showcase the bald who attain this condition by nature or malady.
Over the years I have come to accept my male pattern baldness. I suppose I figured that in retrospect, going bald was no worse than my remaining hair turning snow white as I became older. I have never shaved my head per se but indeed the clipper sometimes appears to have done this based on my appearance.
Not having suffered from any form of alopecia other than that which 60 percent of men find themselves confronting I too attempted the various rememdies available at the time. They were all inadequate and did not prevent any hair loss other than perhaps a few wisps.
So if you're bald this is your day. If you're not bald I hope you have evolved past the cruelty present in so many of the insipid inbred Southerners I have known over the years.
I don't like being bald. I'm certainly not happy about it. I just accept it. What is my choice ? It appears to be invest in a large can of Johnson's paste wax and work up a rich wax shine.
