Alexa has been eavesdropping on owners from the beginning
So you like the idea of a digital personal assistant because it makes you feel all high tech and such.
Alexa, that virtual digital assistant developed by Amazon for its Amazon Echo and Echo Dot line of computing devices has a back end engine running on Amazon Web Services in the cloud.
This imparts an ability for it to learn an individual or family's preferences and expand its functionality over time.
The news threads are reporting that it has been eavesdropping on it's owners from the beginning.
You poor sheeples.
It's kind of like video poker. Anything that will back itself against a wall and take on the world cannot be beat. So Alexa has been providing various data sets about you and yours to whatever stores have been provisioned by it's masters and you have had no informed consent nor can anything be done stop or expunge your record.
This is why I use diagonal cutters, superglue, and tape to disable those microphones placed in consumer electronics against my will and limit wireless network access to assets in my environ. I rule the roost around here technologically.
The rest of you may continue to allow these creators of various bugging devices to steal your personal secrets for their personal wealth acquisition.
And through my suspicious nature and constant vigilance of evolving technogies, I hate to keep repeating this, but I told you so ... repeatedly and long ago.
