Albert Einstein's Birthday 2026

     Albert Einstein

The renowned physicist was born on this day in 1879.

Albert Einstein was a famous physicist noted for his development of the Theory of Relativity. He was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics.

He became a naturalized US citizen and was a lifelong pacifist and civil rights supporter.

He had his brain studied after death, leaving behind a legacy that shaped modern physics and beyond.

He famously worked as a patent clerk while developing revolutionary theories, was offered (and declined) the presidency of Israel, and was known for his quirks like disliking socks.

He revolutionized the field of physics. His theories of relativity explained gravity as the curvature of spacetime, impacting GPS and cosmology, and he also explained Brownian motion, proving the existence of atoms.

He was a Nobel Prize Winner — but not for Relativity. While famous for relativity, he won the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect.

A consummate pacifist, he opposed nationalism, supported civil rights in America, and was an active member of the NAACP after moving to the US.

Einstein declined Presidency of Israel. In 1952, he was offered the presidency of Israel but declined the offer, citing his lack of aptitude for the role.

His were a combination of unique personality and quirky habits. He was known for disliking socks, having temper tantrums as a child, and famously pretending to be someone else to avoid fans on the street.

He was born March 14 1879 and died on April 18 1955. Today is the 147th anniversary of his birth. Happy birthday in Heaven.
