World Brain Tumor Day 2025
brain tumor
While I have never had to suffer the experience of having a brain tumor invade a loved one I have had interactions with those who have had this horrific experience.

Depending on what may be affected in this human circuitry, memory, biofeedback triggers, and even that essence of who you are to include all manner of sensory and motor deficits may be encountered.

If you become friends with a stage 4 terminal patient you are likely to suffer losing them sooner rather than later.

I have been known to cry both for and with these people as they endure that which may not be surmountable to the bitter end.

Even good outcomes can leave devastation of the central nervous system and the victim with profound secondary affectations.

Today is World Brain Tumor Day.

It is held each June 8 to raise awareness of brain tumors.

The stages of brain cancer mimic those of other carcinoma only the brain controls much to fall into operational failures because of growths within it. So first of all if you know someone with a brain tumor they are a suitable subject to which you may direct your charitable endeavors.

I would spend time with them.

If you have subject matter expertise it may or may not be a good idea to share this based on the wishes of the attending physician. All you can really do is offer your support and assistance if you can and keep them in your prayers.

World Brain Tumor Day makes reference to and brings to the fore one of the most difficult conditions you may encounter as a human being.

Prince Rogers Nelson Birthday 2025
    Prince

Prince Rogers Nelson was born June 7, 1958 and passed April 21, 2016.

He was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor.

He influenced many of the musicians of his generation.

He was known for his flamboyant, androgynous persona, wide vocal range, which included a wide spectrum falsetto and high-pitch inclusions.

He was also renoun as a multi instrumentalist.

He was known to often play all or most of the instruments on his recordings.

I have been known to listen to vartious tracks by him quite often over the years during my work at the computer.

His music incorporated a wide variety of styles, including funk, disco, R&B, rock, new wave, soul, synth-pop, pop, jazz, blues, and hip hop.

Prince produced his albums himself, pioneering what became known as "the Minneapolis sound".

He passed from died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl at his compound. His final disposition was cremation.

Today is his birthday. He would have been 67 years old. Rest in peace and happy birthday in Heaven.

National Yo-Yo Day 2025
black Duncan Butterfly
I remember times long ago at Grandma Ida's house playing with Duncan tops and Yo-yos.

It was a pleasant interlude from which I really didn't gain much in the way of skills but it killed a lot of time which would otherwise have been exceedingly boring.

Grandma had a long hall from which you could duck into a bedroom and that was where I plotted my various toy endeavors which meant nothing to anyone but me.

Today is National Yo-Yo Day. It is held under the auspices of one Daniel Volk since 1990.

The yo-yo has been around some two millenia and I personally believe they began as Filipino constructs which made their way across the playtimes of children everywhere. I always bought Duncan yo-yos not even knowing who Donald F Duncan Sr was in real life.

The June 6 date was supposed to correspond to the birthday of Donald F Duncan Sr. He was born on June 8.

So break out that yo-yo you have stashed and wow the crowds everywhere.

Happy National Yo-Yo Day to you.

Thank You Day 2025
     girl saying Thank You

Something I try to do frequently is thank others for their kind indulgence of me.

I know I can be a pill and a sore spot in their day so on those occasions when I can make my gratefulness known I try to dutifully say "thank you".

Today is Thank You Day.

It goes down each year on June fifth in Great Britain since 2021 in appreciation of those who do for others.

We should have a similar observance here but I think the bulk of the populace realize just how much of a farce the handling of the COVID-19 thing actually was when the administration became Joe Biden's responsibility.

Ostensibly this was for actions performed in the COVID-19 plandemic which was largely the result of a stupid incoming national administration out to use it as a control mechanism with no consideration of proper health care nor good advice for those affected.

It is celebrated with the ususal party fare in the United Kingdom communities which host tartan tea parties, picnics, and barbecue parties.

Personally, Thank You Day is better suited for something that wasn't handled so exceedingly badly as the COVID-19 mess because THAT debacle should go down as a mark of shame for the country in the annals of history .

Community heroes are worth recognizing. Though I don't agree with everything he does, I still think Trump should have remained in charge over the democrats and that senile carrot Joe Biden with his criminal family. Boo Joe Biden and ALL the democrats. Boo medical fraudster and traitor Anthony Fauci.

Happy Thank You Day.

International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression 2025
The late Scotty McMillan
Nothing infuriates me more than child abuse. Particularly when the child is younger and the perps adults and supposedly charged with caring for the child.

As an example, I give you young Scotty McMillan who was murdered by his step father with the assistance of his biological mother. Talk about dick crazy females ...

Though it's inconceivable that a mother would torture her young son to death, the men are usually much worse in their pursuit of clearing the nest of offspring not of their issue — which was largely how this appeared.

Today is International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression.

It is observed each June 4 to make known the pain and suffering of innocent children thoughtout the world who are victimized by someone older, stronger, and usually in control of their existence. It also promotes the idea of ending all forms of violence against children.

I would never enact violence toward any child. It simply is not in me. I would think all of the men of the world might take a similar stance, but as Scotty McMillan so painfully proved this simply is not the case.

Be kind to those children you encounter because you were once a child. Rest in peace Scotty McMillan, Innocent Child Victim of Aggression.

Love Conquers All Day 2025
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in love
Long ago I was a romantic.

Those days went down hard and never returned. It seems that the ulterior motives of people come into play and overshadow any and everything otherwise.

When you have a lot of cash and posessions it's natural for people to find you attractive.

Sometimes the attraction is welcomed. Other times it is not. Suffice it to say that I resisted all efforts to hook up and lost at every attempt I personally made at going for the gusto.

I must have been going for those persons who were incompatible yet I didn't see it.

In the end it's all okay — although I find myself sometimes awaiting the large hispanic boy with blond hair approaching me and asking me if I recall Ana from Tiajuana in the early 1980s.

Today is Love Conquers All Day.

It is observed each June 3 annually and promotes cherishing our loved ones. It is said that life is tough and easier with which to cope with your loved ones by your side.

So regardless if your approach is Biblical or scientific love conquering all is not a far stretch for human beings.

I like the company of a pretty, smart woman every now and then. I simply cannot fathom why people would hook up with some fugly barfly without intellect.

Must be that target rich enviornment and what you construe to be yours.

Must be that different drum beckoning me.

National Bubba Day 2025
Bubba the Bulldog
Over the years I've known a few who thought my name was 'Bubba'. Typically those fixated on this moniker stuck with it though thick and thin.

It necessitated an attitude of contempt to get clear of it as well.

These days you can call me most things. I even answer to "hey you".

Just don't call me Bubba.

Today is National Bubba Day.

It is observed each June second of the year under the auspices of one comedian T Bubba Bechtol who founded the day to celebrate everyone who is called Bubba and is a recognition of the name Bubba.

It is meant to empower those called Bubba and spread positivity for the nickname.

The day began on May 1 but was changed by Mr Bechtol in honor of his wife.

I am told that more than 50 million in the world are referred to as Bubba.

I recall my high school principal in Wagener, South Carolina was called "Bubba". He did not seem to mind.

It is likewise said that Bubba is a US Southern slang word for a younger brother. My late cousin Johnney Wade Williamson used to call his brother bubba briefly. The day is meant to spread positivity for the nickname.

So like I said, call me what you will but please don't call me Bubba.

Others may accept or reject the nickname in accordance with their wishes.

Wear a Dress Day 2025
Sam Brinton the democrats pet faggot
There are those who should wear dresses. There are others who should never wear dresses.

Sam Brinton is the latter. He is a pervert, thief, pet of the democratic party with multiple arrests who needs to go down just as they do. Terminated with extreme prejudice.

I'm sorry but perverts have their place and it's concealed in the cemetery.

Today is Wear a Dress Day.

It happens each June first for WOMEN to style around in their favorite dress.

It is not a time for men to flaunt their perverted put your freak on nature and be that embarassment to humanity that transvestites and transsexuals are compelled to be ...

Ostensibly, the day is dedicated to all women. However, it is said that basically anyone who wants to wear a dress may be included because the day is all about dressing up and having fun.

Here's where we part company. I don't feel holidays should ever promote the depraved behaviors of those few lacking an appropriate male model in their raising.

That is what this holiday does.

So Happy Wear a Dress Day.

I just hope you're female lest I sketch you too with a nice high powered rifle retical stretched across your corrupt face ...

Just letting my feelings be known.

Happy Birthday Clint Eastwood 2025
Clint Eastwood
Clinton Eastwood Jr. was born May 31, 1930 in San Francisco, to Clinton Eastwood Sr who was a bond salesman and later manufacturing executive for Georgia-Pacific Corporation and Ruth Wood (née Margret Ruth Runner), a housewife who chose a career path as an IBM clerk.

He grew up in Piedmont, California.

His interests there included music and mechanics but he found school boring.

In 1949, the year he graduated from high school, his parents and younger sister Jeanne moved to Seattle.

He relocated to Oregon and did various things until his return to California and enrollment in LA City College from which he ultimately dropped out to pursue acting.

Lucky for us !

He became a client of Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw and incorporated their Life Extension program into his schedule long ago. This must be how he has weathered the years so well with his faculties intact.

After my 'Harry Callahan' phase of the early 1980s my favorites in his repitoire are Gran Torino in 2008, Space Cowboys in 2000, and Unforgiven in 1992.

He has superior politics, a great acting style, and remains one of my most favorite actors of all time.

Today is his birthday. Happy Birthday to you !

National Heat Awareness Day 2025
    Overheated Kids
My childhood was fraught with attempts at over exertion to lose body fat. My dear friend the late Escoe Lloyd Robinson, III cautioned me several times during PE at Horace O'Bryant Junior High School in Key West, Florida regarding my red face and huffing and puffing ...

It would seem that over exertion was a way of life intermittently until that fateful day I decided to become a superman and cultivated a physique capable of running three miles in the middle of August without barely breaking a sweat.

Yes the little fat boy became a superior physical specimen in his early 20s and it remains notable to this day because those who knew me saw the change and noticed.

Today is National Heat Awareness Day.

It is observed annually under the auspices of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Weather Service on the last Friday of May, making it May 30 this year. The crux of the day is about avoiding the deleterious effects of heat on the human body such as dehydration, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, or even death.

This day is about preventing those serious heat-induced conditions so prevalent in those who work or play out in the weather during the hot Summer months in the name of preventing unnecessary medical emergencies.

Rising temperatures and rising humidity can reek havoc on your physiology if you allow them to do so. Exercise caution when you work or exercise in the heat. Don't allow the heat of the day become a killer.

Equifax. Enemy of the Tax Payer
Equifax--The friend of my enemy is my enemy

I recently attempted to lift a credit report freeze with all three credit reporting agencies. Everything went well until I hit the Equifax morons. They gave me to some dullard woman in India who had no business even being connected to my credit information.

She attempted to identify me using transactions on their credit report — which I have never read and now will NEVER read.

Instead of using valid identity markers in their process they choose to:

#1  use a device of their own design. This should be a standardized methodology with oversight.
#2  use a foreign national to pursue this identification. Foreigners should mind their own business and stay out of ours. Any US company that can't handle the business themselves should likewise stay out of matters beyond their operational capability.
#3  act as though they have the divine right of kings to do this. God did not leave Equifax in charge of the world.

So, at this stage of the game I would be quite happy if Pakistan nuked Inda and gave them what they so richly deserve. I would like Equifax to be removed as a credit reporting agency for their gross incompetence and what I construe to be gross misconduct. Where is the government oversight when companies allow foreign idiots to walk on the taxpayer.

My attempts to contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau fell on deaf ears.

I voted for Trump but now I'm having second thoughts.

Boo !

National Alligator Day 2025
American Alligator
My interactions with alligators typically happen from a high vantage above the waterway in which they are swimming.

Nothing makes me shudder more effectively than a congregation of gators swimming around or just floating there looking all menacing ...

Even the little ones. Something about those eyes and snouts raised above the water line just adds to the trepidation all those teeth being so close for me personally.

We even bought bags of frozen 'Alligator Nuggets' which my cohort fried up and they were quite tasty.

I enjoyed the few I ate and it seems that her grandchildren took a distinct shine for them, requesting them on occasion afterwards.

Today is National Alligator Day.

It is observed each May 29 under the auspices of Wild Florida Safari Park as a statement regarding the place of the Alligator in the Florida ecosystem and their importance ...

Regardless of how ferocious these reptiles are in reality. They will eat you if they get the opportunity.

Alligators are not the same as crocodiles. They both are water dwellers and only coexist in South Florida and Tamaulipas, Mexico. They are native to the United States, Mexico, and China.

World Hunger Day 2025
    Oliver asking for more
No I'm not Oliver and no I'm not typically hungry. My nutritional needs are always handled in a prompt and efficient manner with all kinds of delectable foodstuffs whenever and where ever I happen to be.

Today is World Hunger Day.

It happens each May 28 since 2011 under the auspices of The Hunger Project in an attempt to qwell the hunger pangs of everyone on the face of the earth.

The Hunger Project estimates that 820 million people are suffering from chronic hunger and the resulting malnutrition it cultivates in a population.

The issue of world hunger has been around for as long as I can remember. Diminished food intake over time can result in various health issues.

The causes of hunger in the world population include low incomes, famine, drought, and political unrest.

So if you can aid another who is hungry it is a valiant effort on your part if you do.

If you cannot — at least give your empathy for the plight of the hungry. I have never suffered from prolonged hunger and therefore cannot attest to the discomfort of not having enough to eat.

I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones on the planet.

National Sunscreen Day 2025
I recall the summer I got fried in Key West.

It was summer and I was working in the Emergency Room when some in my cohort said how nice it would be to visit Key West. Me, being the shortsighted fellow I was quickly joined the misguided affair and we headed down South some seventeen hours packed in Jim Megg's Toyota like sardines.

Upon our arrival, we pitched our tent on a nice breezy outcropping and proceeded to fry like pieces of bacon in the white hot blistering Florida sunshine.

I had a short visit with my childhood friends, Mr and Mrs Rudy Gagnon over at Aster Terrace in Key Haven which was a short trot accross US1 on Stock Island (Raccoon Key) to there and back to the campground.

Sun Screen SPF 50

Upon our departure, as time progressed the suffering became legendary.

We went to an emergency room somewhere in Florida which declined to accept our insurance because they said it wouldn't cover "sunburn".

I checked the coverage when we got back and was told it would have covered everything 100 percent.

When we returned we went straight to the Emergency Room where we all worked and they treated my second degree sunburn as they yelled at me for being so stupid and advised me regarding the dangers of skin cancer and it's association to too much sun ...

Anyway a couple days later I was all better, had quit my whining, and got back to the business of my go nowhere county hospital job.

Today is National Sunscreen Day.

It is observed each May 27 and gives rise to the notion that UV radiation is a constant danger to human beings with sunscreen being the number one weapon in the battle against UV radiation caused skin cancers.

Go Figure.

Anyway I never forayed into the sun again and have pretty much lived with skin as white as a dead fish since then. Not to mention that my legs can now light the insides of caves.

These sunscreen products have an effectiveness rating called "SPF" aka "Skin Protection Factor". The higher the SPF the greater the protection from UV radiation while you're outside. I don't use these products anymore because I use a different chemical inhibitor called Super Oxide Dismutase to block the harmful effects of UV skin damage. However, in the absence of SOD I would indeed use a sunscreen product in most likely a lotion form.

Happy National Sunscreen Day and watch out. Everything that is good for you may harm you if indulged to excess. Sunlight is no different.
