Today is Tony's Wedding
Congratulations Tony and Maria !
My friend Tony is getting married today at 2:00 pm.

He and his bride, Maria, will tie the knot up the road a few miles just a scant six hours from now.

I bought a little card — then tried my hand at some impromptu wedding wishes and inserted a little cash.

Now I'm ready to get dressed and go !

So as they embark on this new facet of their lives I wish them and their blended family well.

Tony, being the family man he is, appears to enjoy the home life and hubbub which goes with those many domestic endeavors ...

Here's to Mr and Mrs Brown !

Cursing and Intelligence
Stewie admonishing
I've been amused by some of the threads I've indulged regarding indicators for higher intelligence in people. A number of them are covered with "cursing" being one of those most discussed when the topic arises.

First of all, I would like to point out that I'm as smart as the next guy and I likely curse much more. I attribute this to my sailor days and much to my chagrin find that the coarse language has never left me since those days.

When my language embarassed those around me I was unable to key in on any of that and cursed right on. Nowadays I have rants of intermittent cursing and I think badly of myself for doing it.

This is due to my opinion that a person curses because they can't formulate verbiage otherwise to relate what's on their mind. The saddest part of this is what I feel is an excellent vocabulary simply laid waste by a propensity for bad words even in polite company.

How does one make amends for such reprehensible behavior in the absence of any remorse which survives "the now" into the consciousness of daily living ?

In a word, one doesn't. One only tries to do better at another time.

Thusly I continue this vicious cycle which I'm working on however feeble and lackluster appearances may be ... for I am just a man. I don't claim to be much anymore and I suppose the language is evidence for my diminished attempts at being that to which I might aspire.

Could it be that I've just given up ?

Addiction Remains Epic Problem in the US
OxyContin 100 tabs
Surgeon general Dr. Vivek Murthy released a report Thursday calling for a major cultural shift in the way Americans view drug and alcohol addiction.

Called "Facing Addiction in America" it speaks of the consequences of addiction, advances in brain science and the ability for treatment, and is generally a piece to inspire action regardless of the speed at which certain addiction numbers are growing ... such as those seen in opiod addiction.

Legitimate source beginnings mark the advent of addiction in some individuals who substitute street drugs like heroin for prescription pills in an effort to find some elusive relief they seek.

Regardless, the road is littered with pitfalls which impede success and having fought my own set of personal demons in this realm I can tell you that the addict has a particularly rough row to hoe with diminishing resources available due to budgetary constraints.

Regardless, there can be light at the end of the tunnel and I am fortunate to have been able to shake the monkey off my back using a technique called "cold turkey". I simply awoke one day having decided that enough was enough and I never indulged my addictive personality and dare say have been 30 years free of recreational drugs with a clearer thought process and a much more liberal tolerance to those taxing interpersonal relationships that eluded me in the past.

Suffice it to say that the chronic illness which is addiction was in my case a character flaw which I discarded like other aspects of the "old" me I chose to change.

The new me is a different human being altogether.

Fake News, Disinformation Gone Crazy
It is a recent manifestation in the news threads regarding the preponderance of "fake news" being placed on various social media outlets purporting to be the real thing.

With absences of facts and correct information these various sources appear to have their beginnings on those comedy shows set up as though they were presenting news when in actuality it is farce or satire in 'news clothing' as it were.

Stop the Fake News

I am not really one to fall for a lot of this mess because I make it a point to read multiple outlets and always cross check to those with a veracity level I have investigated over time.

The conclusion I have come to regarding the entirety of "fake news" revolves around the millenials with their 'safe space' and other idiocy. I'm just glad that the generation that will succeed them do not appear to fall for the phony baloney crap which constitutes their existence.

When a generation of burger flippers reproduces and raises children these type of results are about all one may expect.

Security and the Sex Crazed Site Member
Mirror Mirror on the wall ...
Reuters (among others) has reported that credentials for 412 million users of the (Adult) FriendFinder Networks Inc brands of sex and swinger sites have been compromised.

This is not the first time either.

It has been stated in the threads that some 78,301 of the accounts were in the .mil (military) domain and 5,650 were in the .gov (US government) registry.

Total Accounts Compromised412,000,000
.mil "US Military Doman"78,301
.gov "US Government Domain"5,650
Other domain members compromised      411,916,049

Now then, who has the swingingest military and government of them all, oh mirror mirror ?

There certainly doesn't seem to be any need for security at Adult Friendfinder ... now does it you nasty people?

Sadie Hawkins Day

In all our idiotic role reversals based on males thinking they're females and females thinking they're males ... today is Sadie Hawkins Day.

A recurring theme through out my life, it stems from Al Capps Lil Abner comics which found their way through the threads of my existence since before I was in 1937 until about 1978 when I was in the navy crusing the Mediterranean.

The pretext was gender role reversal whereby women and girls went after the men and boys for dates which was not really done during much of the time frame.

Due to popular demand, what began as a simple non recurring episode of the comic strip turned into an annual observance for the bulk of 40 some odd years.

The Old Farmer's Almanac even marks the celebration as being held on November 15th of each year and it has been the topic of legend and lore through the eyes of those various Lil Abner comics and movies which have come around over the years.

Enemy of the State
    Soros Gyorgy
The so-called spontaneous protests happening regarding the elections appear to have been instigated by Soros György, aka "George Soros" and his organization —

much like those he allegedly funded during the Ferguson riots via craigslist ads actively seeking "actors" paid $3500 to insight trouble.

Acts like renting thugs for Trump rallies, insighting riots, providing millions in dollars for troubles while the mainstream media stands around stupified in the presence of his shenanigans.

His diseminated propaganda is playing to the base instincts of a group already unhappy with the election results and who are believing the lies propagated by this man because they appear to be largely incapable of evaluating the facts and thinking things out for themselves.

IMHO Mr Soros needs to be captured and dealt with like the enemy of the state he is and his actions brought to a swift and decisive end.

Veterans Day
Today we observe the public holiday held on the anniversary of the end of World War I on November 11 — honoring veterans of the United States as well as the victims of all wars.

This observance was formerly known as Armistice Day, which it replaced in 1954.

Sour Grapes
Hillary LOST ... get over it
There are reports of protests over the election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States. It would seem that they are diffuse and pretty rowdy.

In all this negative attitude adopted due to the fact that the clinton regime is pretty much at an end and a presidency her constituents cannot have themselves ...

It would seem that the sore losers are pretty doggone mouthy. Had she won I would have accepted it without demonstrating like these whiners are doing.

They will not change the outcome and the people have spoken. I'm fine with the dissent ... but this sounds more like rabble rousing to me.

Demonstrate right on you crybaby democrat wannabes seeking something for nothing in the vein of the democratic and progressive dole.

Your candidate lost the election.

Voting Considerations
Big government. I had thought Trump would be less of a source for it but it appears some of my cohorts disagree. One friend declines to vote for anyone this year saying all the candidates are undeserving of his vote.

I'm deferring until after work today to head to the polls. I rode by this morning and there were people draped all around the polling place with 25 minutes til time to open the polls.

Despite these infernal last minute trepidations ... all I know for sure is we don't need another Clinton white house or a Bush one either.

The trouble with Chelsea
Bradley Manning, the XY who would be XX genotype going by "Chelsea" whistleblower attempted suicide for the second time last month according to his attorneys.

The only details involve his coping skills with prison life resulting in an alleged 'fragile mental state' which may pretty much be summed up as an inability to accept the consequences of his actions.

It appears as though the 35 year sentence for espionage isn't going very well ... with judicial punishment for previous attempts to off himself and the posession of contraband such as books.

Bradley call me Chelsea Manning
It would seem that gender dysphoria is just a single facet of the screwed up individual Mr Manning is and has been. If you're unable to accept who you are it logically follows that tolerating what others find you to be will also be tolerated poorly.

It should be noted here that while a number of people find Mr Manning a 'hero' my humble opinion remains in the traitor range of human behavior and this failure to thrive is the result of betrayal of the uniform of the United States Army.

Suck it up and take what you have coming, Brad. The real world entails suffering the consequences of your actions.

It cannot be the fault of the world that you were born male and chose to betray your country while in the armed services. When you don the uniform the rules change. I suppose you found it all incongruent with the remainder of that fantasy which is your life.

Fell Back last night
fall back
The clocks are all an hour earlier. I awoke an hour earlier than usual.

Time in it's usual fashion progresses onward with man's intervention periodically.

I'm curious as to how some of the states escape the time changes we must endure.

Sometimes I think these changes of the time each semester are good things. Other times I feel they intrude into my life.

The nights, already lengthening by the seasonal changes will now become abruptly longer with darkness ensuing earlier and earlier up to that point where the cycle repeats itself and we 'spring ahead'.
