Yom HaShoah 2020
We Remember - Never Forget
   Oskar Schindler
Today is Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day; aka Yom HaShoah.

It is observed by Israel and the Jewish diaspora to honor the heroes of the holocaust.

Those like Oskar Schindler, "righteous of the nations". I wonder just how many realize the honor of that designation by the entirety of the Jews of the world.

It's mind boggling. Then to be the only member of the nazi party to be afforded the right of burial on Mount Zion. I would be immeasurably honored to be held in a small fraction of such esteem.

So I am relegated to the rest of the gentiles who are not holocaust deniers who simply note:

We Remember.
Never forget.

On this day the Jewish of the world note the six million or so of their people who perished horribly at the hands of the Third Reich in World War II. The actions of Nazi Germany and it's collaborators are called to answer for their crimes against so many innocents for whom they had no mercy.

The day also notes the Jewish resistance for that period and the fact that many chose not to go quietly into the night but fought their oppressors to the bitter end.

The first official commemoration took place in 1951 and the day became codified into Israeli law in 1959.

Four Twenty (420) Many Years Later
cannabis leaf
Back in my youth and young adulthood I consumed marijuana as a manifestation of the socialization which results from the peer culture into which I had naturally become immersed as a function of 'being like others'.

Yes ... but another poor choice of many over the years which became the hallmark of my life up to a point.

Anyway, all of this was contemporaneous with the now famous San Rafael California moniker for 'cannabis consumption' called 420 (four twenty) marking the 4:20 PM meeting time a group of local high school harrys got together to "smoke dope" and comiserate as "heads".

I must admit that some marijuana was (much) better than others and those excellent samples lead to paranoia while behind the wheel among other manifestations of legality viz a viz indulgence.

So the deliberate consumption of an illegal plant material leads to speaking in code such as 420 to symbolize that which might not be outwardly spoken as contrary to mores of the day.

Nowadays '420 friendly' means you tolerate marijuana consumption quite well in your presence. Though I do, I really pursue other company these days since I no longer personally use cannabis as a matter of personal preference.

Not one to encroach on the personal freedoms of others, as I said earlier this week my attitude towards such things remains "to each their own".

The American Revolution begins in 1775
Battles of Lexington and Concord

Back in the late 1980s I spent a bit of time in Bedford, Massachusetts pursuing ATEX computer training. The town of Lexington lay just to the southwest and the town of Concord lay just to the southeast.

I wasn't aware of the historical significance of this area until my good friend the late Jerry Landry of Saltrock Road in Barnstable, Massachusetts brought it all to my attention.

He was quite the history and militaria buff in a time when I had little interest for either.

Staying at the Lord Bedford hotel was much more interesting in the the billowing snowflakes thereafter ...

On this day in 1775 the battles of Lexington and Concord became the first military battles of the American Revolutionary War.

The battles were fought on April 19, 1775 in Middlesex County, Province of Massachusetts Bay, within the towns of Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy (now called Arlington), and Cambridge.

I was there many years after the fact.

International Day For Monuments and Sites 2020
Confederate Flag atop the Statehouse Dome

There is a group of historical revisionist miscreants out to remove various Confederate memorials and statuary as well as paintings and such from the face of the earth in an effort to supposedly erase past events from the annals of history.

Toward this end, the SC legislature voted to remove the Confederate flag from atop the statehouse dome and replace it with a flag on a flagpole in front of the Capitol as a monument.

This contingency was associated with a strong element of non South Carolinians who demonstrated along with the Confederate Supporters at the State House several times ... and the exchanges were heated and many. There was even a demonstration by the KKK who really didn't help the case at all and were a public embarassment to me personally with their nazi salute and ridiculous uniforms.

Dylan Roof likewise didn't help matters with his unsophisticated grasp of white supremacy and stupid inapproprate utilization of the Confederate flag as an emblem to represent murder of those who would welcome him into their religious fold and as such I await his execution as a means to end the single darkest chapter of the entire Confederate Flag mess which unfolded upon the rest of us unanticipated.

Of course the damn yankees, stupid democrats, foreign nationals elected to public office, and leftist libtards ignorant of the historical significance of the flag and without ancestors who died fighting under that flag were all for it.

A 2/3 traitor majority in both houses of the legislature allowed for the complete removal so the enemies of the South prevailed in the absense of any true Southern champion for prevention.

The flag was given to the South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum.

Gone, but never forgotten.

I really don't care what others may think of the that symbology which is the Confederate Flag.

It is simply a part of our history which will not be ripped from the fabric of those annals which record it, good or bad and right or wrong.

It's a part of my personal heritage and cannot be removed from me by some revisionist out to fake history like so much fake news and fakery everywhere since the the world went mad and right became wrong and good became bad and what is became what never was.

History may be written by the victors ... but you cannot change written history regardless of how many libtard educators you allow in your failed education system.

COVID-19, Restrictions, Nazi Mayors and Governors, and Me
    COVID-19 Wuhan Chinese Coronavirus
Well, we've been in all this mess for a month now. I'm pretty tired of all of it. I am not unsympathetic for those suffering the effects of the virus.

I just don't feel that those lying ass culprets responsible for loosing this contageon on the world are being held accountable.

I suppose I wouldn't be happy unless we nuke Beijing anyway and I really don't see that happening.

We could capture Xi Jinping and drag him naked across the entirety of the United States ... but then some leftist libtard like Oprah would want to capitalize with a television special or something.

The bottom line here is that juxtaposition of duality whereby we have a responsibility for health and a responsibility for the adequate maintenance of business practices.

I say we need to get back to business. I haven't suffered any ill effects and this may be an unrealistic position for that reason.

The bottom line is the longer we curtail commerce the worse it will be us in the end. What is the use of a lot of addition lives saved if they starve to death or end up otherwise dragging us down.

Stay at home orders pale in the presence of financial destitution. This is what is happening. We cannot keep on bailing out business as though some never ending fountain of cash spews from Washington DC's ass ... because it doesn't.

Then we have the opportunistic bottom feeding democrats trying to make the population dependent on government by subterfuge. This is playing to the diabolical plans of the Pelosis, the Schiffs, the Schumers, the Nadlers, the gd Obamas, Bill Gates and his old lady who think they know all things, and of course the nazi Gretchen Whitmer as well as the public office monetizing Clintons with their buddies the traitor Bush clan.

We can't let these bad guys win. It's becoming a matter of rolling the dice and getting on with it. Start living or start dying. The choice is ours. We need to get back to work and stop squandering resources in the form of stimulus wastes of money.

World Voice Day 2020
mouth speaking

When I was young I had a good singing voice. Like everything else in my life I squandered it over various immediate gratifications and supposed embarassments and as such I got precisely what I deserved regarding it which was nothing.

It's a difficult matter to cultivate things which do not fit into a given lifestyle and artistic pursuits by a child simply fell too low on the list of practicalities viz a viz the requirements of those activities of daily living.

Today is World Voice Day (WVD). Held each year it is an international event devoted to the celebration and conceptualize voice as it relates to communication.

Voice is said to be that sound produced in a person's larynx and uttered through the mouth as speech or song enabling expression of opinions, attitudes, or art.

So matters included span the gamut of voice health, prevention of problems with the voice, voice rehabilitation when necessary, training of the artistic voice and the list goes on inclusive of just about any aspect of voice, it's function, those who command voice to achieve effective communication at any level.

da Vinci's Birthday 2020
Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci
Leonardo da Vinci
Few have come close to the productivity in life as Renaissance man Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci.

Born 568 years ago in Anchiano, Italy he was a polymath of Italian extraction remembered primarily for his painting but posessing a wide area of interests which included but are not limited to:

•    invention
•    drawing
•    painting
•    sculpture
•    architechture
•    science
•    mathematics
•    engineering
•    literature
•    anatomy
•    geology
•    astronomy
•    botany
•    palenontology
•    cartography

Those accolades have followed him closely and he who had no formal academic training is considered one of those few true multiple discipline "universal" geniuses of the world.

So here we have an uneducated individual eclipsing the intellect of the day being remembered throughout history as a man who could and did do about anything.

Today is his birthday. He would have been 568 years old today.

Masters History
Eldrick Tont
In my area the Masters Tournament has always been a big deal.

In fact some of the local school districts go so far as to schedule their spring break based on information from the current year Masters Tournament details.

On this day in 1997 Eldrick Tont "Tiger" Woods became the youngest golfer to win the Masters Tournament.

While all too many are just the basest no character groupies of this designation I have never been one to be impressed by any aspect of golf ...

Particularly those claiming to be "professionals" who've never won anything playing.

Aw, be all of this as it may my humble opnion remains that "The Masters" sucks, golf sucks, golfers in general suck — and the jury remains out on Tiger Woods himself.

I don't like to dog anyone suffering the busy body public eye such as he has.

The tournament this year is postponed due to the COVID-19 Wuhan Chinese Coronavirus so maybe you golfers can put them up high on your hate list ...

Somewhere around me on the list, eh dimpled ball swatting stickboys ?

If you like it all, good for you. My underlying attitudes remain "to each their own".

He is Risen 2020
27:64    Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, he is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
28:6    He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
28:7    And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

Yard Stuff
    Yard Stuff
Well, I have put some badly needed cleanup on the yard ... beginning early yesterday morning on the roof blowing off the pollen tassels and few remaining leaves.

I have been watching the falling leaves fairly closely and they just melded into the oak pollen somewhat on queue — so I just waited until things seem to have stopped then got busy.

It all looks like neglecting to do yard work ... and perhaps it is. I just was actually involved in the timing of it all. I got hot the very first suitable day.

I must say that the dust and such was a little stifling and my half hour in the shower did a fair but incomplete number on all that.

To my chagrin, once again my crappy stump grinding job for which I paid $600 got in the way.

I need to have the tractor serviced and I need to go get some mucinex to bring up these exotic plant powders and dusts I've inhaled during the exhausting yesterday.

I'm amazed how even when you cut weeds to the same height it all has the appearance of grass and the mulched leaves spread evenly compared to the various billowing raggedy piles they replaced.

Anyway, I look forward to a nice rain to bring down the dust levels and it's calling for rain.

The Iceman Cameth and Wenteth
Richard Leonard Kuklinski April 11, 1935 – March 5, 2006
I watched a documentary or two on Richard Kuklinski. The second by HBO one was the most impactful. Here was a guy who sat there calmly describing all manner of acts of murder. He was a hitman called 'The Iceman' and he took out quite a few marks all the while being a loving church going father across two marriages.

Richard Leonard Kuklinski was a murderer, hitman, and exquisitely prolific serial killer from New Jersey. He was sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted of killing two members of his burglary gang and two other associates in 1988.

2003 found him sentenced to an additional 30-year sentence after confessing to the murder of a mob-connected police officer. He acquired the nickname The Iceman by authorities after they discovered that he had frozen the body of one of his victims in an attempt to disguise the time of death.

He was known to his associates as a "one-man army" and even "the Devil himself".

He has numerous claims of high crimes in the form of the murder of various others and these were described in detail over the course of three HBO documentaries where he described his exploits and methods in great detail.

His claims of being a mafioso hitman were documented to the nth degree and his imprisonment capped what was a sad state of humanity ... being the product of a violent alcoholic and physically abusive father he in turn was a violent wife abuser in his own right.

Those highlights of his career feature a multitude of criminal activities for the better part of his adult life. He dealt in stolen goods, operated a burglary and car theft ring, and dabbled in narcotics, pornography, the arms trade, and money laundering.

His family stated that they were unaware of his crimes.

After multiple murder convictions Kuklinski gave interviews to writers, prosecutors, criminologists and psychiatrists.

His body count ranged from 100 to 250 men and those details stated were typically gruesome and largely uncorroborated. He has become immortalized in a feature film and miles of interview footage.

He died at age 70 as the result of a 'do not resusciate' order left by his second wife with the medical staff of St Francis Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey where he had specifically requested CPR given his diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. His wife was given the declined opportunity to rescind that dnr a week before he died.

Goes to show you that violent wife beating simply isn't a good idea.

Memories of Sam Kinison
    Samuel Burl Kinison
Samuel Burl Kinison
December 8, 1953 – April 10, 1992
One of my favorite comedians was the late Sam Kinison. His was a schtick borne of several unhappy marriages teched with penticostal holiness preacher and a certain street smart people savvy orientation to life and love.

Some of those bits associated with him could send a person into convulsions from not being able to breathe in while laughing so hard.

Sam Kinison was an American stand-up comedian and actor. His history as a former Pentecostal preacher lent an intense style to his stand-up routines imparted with that holy man charisma which he hilariously punctuated with his distinct scream.

He did appearances, cameos, videos and such and his career was on a distinct uptick when the end came.

Sam Kinison was driving his white 1989 Pontiac 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Am to Laughlin, Nevada, to perform at a sold-out show. He was struck head-on on US Route 9 near Needles, California by a 17 year old drunk driver in a pickup truck who had crossed into his lane.

He passed from massive trauma after a brief conversation with a spiritual being who was not seen by those witnesses present.

The penalty of the drunk driver was trivial compared to the consequences suffered by Kinison and those of us who remain behind.

Rest in peace.
