I was streaming one of those animal science programs on Discovery+ and was surprised to hear that same sex pairing in animals is found in over 450 species.
They had a zoo staff that couldn't understand why a pair of penguins couldn't create a family. Then there was a chromosome test revealing both of those in the pair were males.

An experiment whereby a rejected egg was placed into that nest they so dutifully created each year and they not only hatched the chick but tended to it with all the care and attention a heterosexual pair would have bestowed.
I tell you, it has me reconsidering my notions regarding same sex anything.
Not being a proponent of gayness in general, my adherence to scripture and specifically the levitical laws governing behavior has kept me on a strict 'hetero is the only o' course since I got out of the Navy.
I remain opposed to the gaying up of the armed forces by the unqualified commander and chief brigand Barack Obama and his tranny first ladyboy, big stanky Mike.
Anyway this recent turmoil secondary to my attitudes has me wondering just what is what and where I stand in the propriety of behavior and matters of the heart.
Perhaps, given nature itself promotes same sex coupling I can ignore the laws stated in Leviticus though the thought of that pains me to no end.
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Leviticus 20:13

Same-sex penguin couple become dads to a baby chick at an Australian aquarium
Two male penguins who paired up as a "same-sex couple" have successfully incubated a baby chick and are "doting" on their tiny offspring, an Australian aquarium announced Friday.
Gentoo penguins Sphen and Magic are happily "taking turns caring for their baby chick," born on October 19 weighing 91 grams, said Tish Hannan of the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium.
Sphen and Magic had caught the attention of aquarium workers when they were constantly seen waddling around and going for swims together.
They then began to build a collective nest of pebbles, prompting the aquarium to provide a dummy egg for them to look after and, when they proved up to the task, a real egg.
The pair have bonded, Hannan, Sea Life's penguin department supervisor, told AFP. "They recognise each other's signature calls and songs.
"Only bonded penguins will be able to successfully find their partner using their calls when they are separated."
Unlike many mammal species, male and female penguins take on the same parenting roles, and share parental duties 50-50.
"There is no real difference when it comes to breeding behaviours between males and females," Hannan explained.
So it "is common to have male-male or female-female showing courtship and breeding behaviour."

In these days of the idiot left wanting to 'defund the police' as if that is a solution to anything except anarchy, death, and destruction a Peace Officers Memorial Day is upon us.
That stupidity, which is the left and their leadership in particular:
Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff, Nadler, The Squad, et al
Are finding their leadership model increasingly rejected even by their own constituents.
After all, just how much stupid is the Republic supposed to be able to tolerate on the world stage.
We have become a prime example of how NOT to run a government thanks to the ineptitude of the democrats and their resident morons in place throughout the country.
Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week are observed in these United States to pay tribute to the local, state, and federal peace officers who have died, or who have been disabled, in the line of duty.
The observance is held May 15th annually and is sponsored by the National Fraternal Order of Police under the auspices of their Memorial Committee.
I personally believe — as do most conservatives — that not only should the police be fully funded, but they should have better benefits and equipment with which they may do their jobs with heightened efficiency.

My old dishwasher kicked the bucket a month or so back. Since then I've been washing dishes by hand.
The revelations of all of this include the fact that I whined about the task entirely too much when I was a child and that immersing my hands in extremely hot water infuriates me.
All of this aside, a new dishwasher has been ordered up to replace the failure sitting in my kitchen. After considerable shopping around and plumber recommendations, a white Bosch 300 Series 24 inch built in dishwasher has been procured and awaits delivery to Jeffers McGill on Atlas Road in Columbia.
They will notify the plumber when it arrives and he will pick it up and bring it over for installation.
At that time I will no longer be playing suzy homemaker as I am presently.
While there is absolutely nothing wrong with tending to such matters, I feel the dishwasher will do a better job than I have with the dish washing.
I have noticed several incidents of glasses in particular not passing muster on the cleanliness scale.
Oh well, I continue to try to do better in that regard.

I've decided that for 8 bucks a month I'm going to set up yet another IP phone.
I'm using the same company I used last time.
I left them in a huff, but in retrospect they weren't really bad at all and the main problem was inexperienced customer service.
Besides, life is too short to get all tedious and grudge bearing ...
So I let it all go and paid them.
Anyway, I am happy to have the extra line and the only down side is if the internet is down so is the phone.
Luckily it has a rich set of features including forwarding and messaging so I guess I'll make attempts not to whine at them anymore and just use the phone.
I've had a lot worse VOIP providers than these guys.

This year for the first time I have a few hummingbirds who hit the feeders and remain even though I'm standing there looking at them.
Time was they would flee at the first sign of anyone that close up. I am hoping this behavior will continue on into the season.
My bird counts don't peak until late July into August. Right now I think I have 1 or 2. The female who hangs out with me comes first thing in the morning and at dusk.
I am careful to keep the home made nectar fresh and the feeders clean and cleared of residual biologics such as bacteria and fungus spores.
This is achieved with copious amounts of white vinegar during the weekly feeder wash outs.
I don't know if I recognize these birds that are not timid, but I am of the opinion that they must be second or third generation hummers from this area ...
Seeing how I have been setting the feeders out yearly for a long time now.
It was very gratifying to watch the birds sit there and feed in my presence for the first time since I began feeding them some 10-15 years back.
I have been a long time getting to this point. The feeder on the right is about 3 feet closer to the camera than the feeder on the left and is a function of the window positioning.

John Wilkes Booth, assassin of US President Abraham Lincoln at Ford's Theatre, in Washington, D.C. was born on this day in 1838.
He was a thespian and member of a famous theatrical family from Maryland as well as an actor of note in his own right.
This confederate sympathizer was despondent over the abolition of slavery in the US and he thought his action was ocurring during the actual Civil War.
He died April 26, 1865 at age 26 after being struck in the neck by the bullet of a Union soldier named Boston Corbett who acted contrary to his orders which were live capture.
It is my humble opinion that his actions and death are the result of that impetuous streak all too many white males seem to develop in the late teens through young adulthood and that he did not live long enough to get through his "stupid" phase as did I.
Regardless the blow he struck was devastating to the country and history itself in light of the good man Lincoln is recognized as being.
The legacy of John Wilkes Booth is that of a murderer of a hero, statesman, and patriot of the United States.

There is history related to me over the years of an ancestor of mine, one Samuel Asbury who was a physician in the Confederate army who was executed by his own people for treating Union soldiers.
This story has stuck with me since childhood and since that time I have felt affinity for the civil war and both sides because of the altruism exhibited by my ancestor.
I keep wondering about man's inhumanity to man and how helping a person can be a capital offense ... particularly in light of the hippocratic oath — but I am also aware of the typical evolution of those characters participating in that bad english speaking cold mountain reality which was us at war with our crude poorly educated selves.
After all, with Andersonville and other atrocities what happened to my ancestor is actually a lesser crime than has been committed otherwise in the civil war.
It's Confederate Memorial Day once again and commemorates the estimated 258,000 Confederate soldiers who died in military service.
It's a state holiday here in South Carolina even though the racist black bitches want to act as though the confederate flag is racist when it is a symbol of heritage and honored war dead.
Regardless, I celebrate the day. I celebrate the Confederate Flag. I celebrate the memory of my ancestors who died on both sides of the civil war.
Don't like it racist black bitches? Good.
