International Zebra Day 2025
    Zebra
The zebra. We encroach on their habitat more each year as they rapidly become endangered.

Kenya and Ethiopia as well as Namibia, South Africa, and Anglola are where they presently trot around.

I think they should bring a bunch of them to Martha's Vinyard to live with that resident pervert zebra and his fugly man playing chick with a dick wife, big Mike. Let Cape Cod suffer those consequences of the actions of their horse ass stank pervert foreigner citizen.

Or better yet put the brigands Obama in an oak box closed with ten penny nails spaced at half inch intervals and ship them back to Kenya where they belong. Just drop the box somewhere from a plane above the Chalbi Desert mdash; or the Nyiri Desert which is aka Taru Desert or The Nyika.

Today is International Zebra Day. It is an annual January 31st ocurrence to speak of their diminishing natural habitat and the human development responsible for it.

The thrust of the day is conservation. Of the three types of Zebras on the Earth the entire population has lost over half of it's animals. Poaching has been the biggest problem in the past 30 years with hides and pelts being a marketable booty.

So as the battle for survival of the zebra rages on we might attempt to do more than simply stare at them and their plight.

Happy International Zebra Day.

National Draw a Dinosaur Day 2025
Indomitus Rex
When I was a kid I was into dinosaurs.

I shared that aspect of myself with my nieces and nephews much later in the form of large picture books with the scientific names and other information and they ate it all up from my perspective.

I was always keen on making them smarter, but alas only the females took the academic bait.

The boy children remained largely stupid exhibiting all manner of boisterous, irresponsible, and antisocial behaviors.

Today is National Draw a Dinosaur Day.

It happens each January 30 since 2007 under the auspices of one Todd Page who was an anthropology student compelled to effort the giants of prehistory.

So he registered the day and the rest we say is history.

If you share that attraction for these gigantoid reptiles and birds of yesteryear then by all means, join in and do your own sketch.

Mine is of a fictious reptile called Indomitus Rex from the Jurassic Park franchise. Yours can be real or otherwise.

Happy National Draw a Dinosaur Day.

Curmudgeons Day 2025
    Sunny Hostin The View Curmudgeon
It's Curmudgeons Day. Time to honor all we cranky and fussy persons populating the Earth. While I am one to attempt some semblence of decorum and comportment there are those who shuck it all and be who they really are.

Could I possibly hold being who you really are against you ?

Nope !

The word ‘curmudgeon’ refers to ill-tempered, disagreeable, and quarrelsome prone people. I am mostly amused by those curmudgeon I encounter. Certainly I am said to be a curmudgeon periodically. Today is the day we should tolerate their presence. Curmudgeons Day is their day.

The day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of the American actor, comedian, writer, and juggler, William Claude Dukenfield aka W.C. Fields.

If you're grumpy, grouchy, want to give a lot of people crap in the best traditions of woke bitch Sunny Hostin on The View ...

If it's in you let it out. If you're observing it let it alone. Today is Curmudgeons Day. Let the venting begin !

National Daisy Day 2025
daisies

Daisies are a favorite among the flowers which grow near my home.

This is because I have seen so many of them I have become somewhat of a quasi student of their form and colors.

The delicate petals and shades of color have always struck me as a thing of beauty and a joy forever ...

Today is National Daisy Day which is held each January 28.

Time to celebrate simplicity and variety.

Time to note the daisy.

The flowers are native to the Northern European areas of the world and they are all over the place at this time.

The name is derived from the words "day's eye" because many of them close their petals at dusk.

While daisies were once considered just weeds they are now pinnacles of the garden adding a splash of color to the various other things populating the plants there.

You can grow them in pots, sew the seeds directly into the ground and regardless they can flourish and add beauty to where you live.

National Geographic Day 2025
    National Geographic Issue

Back in the old days I taught at college. It was during this time that I took a keen interest in the education of my sibling's children.

I would get them various toys I felt were educational, built them a jamming (at that time) computer, added an inkjet printer, and installed all manner of software.

I also picked the two most academically spirited for subscriptions to National Geographic which I maintained for a great number of years.

I believe it was 10 or so years apiece for the two girls. The boy troglodyte relatives never impressed me with a willingness to study ... or even attempted to express anything intelligent at all.

I only hope it assisted them along their pathway of personal growth. At this juncture one is a school teacher and the other is a grants program manager for the University from which she graduated. These are not what I personally consider to be adequate outcomes. Perhaps my wishes for their careers was quite a bit too lofty.

Today is National Geographic Day. It is a January 27 happening in the United States.

This day pays homage to "National Geographic Magazine" that publication which has been in print for over a century and covers a wide range of topical data from science, geography, history, and international culture.

I did the subscription thing due to my attraction to the magazine in grade school. I used to love to peruse each magazine from cover to cover. It is a historical and anthropological smorgasboard of interest facts, figures, and illustrations.

I am sorry to say that neither of those nieces who received the subscriptions remember them or anything else I tried to do to enhance their educations. Luckily, I am left feeling that it didn't matter anyway.

It's a sad tale, but true. All too often we forget those who were in our corner at those critical junctures which made the difference for us personally.

Dental Drill Appreciation Day 2025
Dr Rob Guerriero, DDS
I recently had a dental visit after about 10 years or so.

There was serious interior degredation of the right superior molar due to amalgam being put in the tooth against my expressed wishes. Essentially there was decay from "the inside out".

I went to the place I typically go and met the third dentist to hang his shingle there during the existence of the place.

The location is Soda City Dentistry 1801 Charleston Hwy Ste A, Cayce, SC 29033 (803)-794-5430.

https://www.sodacitydentistry.com/

My first dentist was Dr Rick Jackson, the amalgam freak.
My second dentist was Dr Nick Pournaras , who had really impressive skills.
My last visit was with Dr Rob Guerriero whom I think has impressive skills in his own right.

The visit went well. The post op pain was about a 2 week thingie but totally mild.

I am now sitting pretty with two new crowns in a year.

Dr Nick placed the first. Dr Rob installed the second.

Today is Dental Drill Appreciation Day. It is an annual happening each January 26th.

Few patients would think that the dental drill should be celebrated.

It is however a tool of the dentist which has undergone extensive evolution over the years and I dare say the pain associated with it has never been something I have experienced.

So whether you see a lot of drill action or not, dental care is an important aspect of modern life if you prefer to exist with minimal decay and subsequent stank bref.

For some of us fresh breath is the priority.

I recommend Dr Rob Guerriero at Soda City Dentistry for your dental care without reservation.

Opposite Day 2025
    thumbs up thumbs down
I freely admit to being the opposite to most others I encounter.

How can this be ?

I just involve myself in "the other" that difference which sets us apart from the dull and commonplace top 40 mentality I witnessed at the various clubs I would wander through in search of alcohol.

Unlike my beloved middle brother, I never viewed bars, clubs, or other 'watering holes' as target rich environments for hooking up with women. His idea of a good woman is to be had at a bar.

My youngest brother prefers strippers at similar establishments. He presented one with a $5K diamond ring and wonders why it destroyed his marriage. Can I get a DUH ?

I feel my personal choices are more esoteric. Those types of women are more likely found at a library or museum.
The actual day itself is either January 25 or every 25th day of any month depending on your orientation.

Those interacting timelines make for bumfuzzled significant others if you are into the habit of pranking because you are what you envision to be the inverse of all you encounter.

That inner jokester may not be able to handle those ramifications of that which you aren't.

Suffice it to say that if your bad be good and if you're good be bad and you will have the crux of Opposite Day down pat.

Happy Opposite Day you contrary devil you.

Change a Pet's Life Day 2025
Bulldog
Yeah, I was a dog owner in my youth.

First there was Bootsie, a rat terrier mix.
Then came Baby Angus, whom my daddy took to the pine trees and shot in the head for killing chickens.
Finally there was the super intelligent Mae, daugher of MacDougal of Lancaster, SC who may have been the smartest dog to ever live.

Those days long having been over I look back and reminisce with nostalgia and decline to pursue the act of being a pet owner further.

I think it's fine and well and good to engage companion animals if you are uncomfortable in your own skin.

This notion of psychological service animals has pretty much blown me out of the water ever since I first heard of these poor pitiful humans who are so incompetent that they "think" they need them.

Any legal standing they have gained is one of those many miscarriages of justice so typical of the the sick woke mind.

Today is Change a Pet’s Life Day.

It is observed each January 24 but is said to be a sweeping change for pets as well as us.

Some say pets bring them limitless happiness. I say they bring added responsibility in the form of vets and providing food and shelter and toys and such ...

Much less the never ending poop which must be cleared away for a satisfactory environment.

If you're like me and don't feel ready to get a new pet just yet ... you are not alone.

That's why God gave us animal shelters which euthanize.

National King Day 2025
    Thick gold Kings Crown
Yeah, so I used to fantasize from time to time about being a king. The word means 'ruler' and typically refers to a male reagent so there I was and here we are. Please bow.

I believe my fantasy revolved around my extensive readings of the 12 volume Sir James Frazer’s The Golden Bough and I would indulge these things intermittently but not too often.

My crown preferences are of the thick gold without jewel encrustments because I always envisioned myself as a 'battle king' and would go off on crusades to fight swords, maces, shields, and fisticuffs being basically the extreme ruffian I was.

The disturbing part of The Golden Bough was the many references to killing the king if his abilities should ever weaken. I have also read innumerable accounts of kings living to ripe old ages and dying naturally — and this leaves me wondering if Mr Frazer's accounts may been embellished or contrived.

Regardless, if you hold any kingship fantasies this is the day for them.

You don't have to "really" be a king. Just be cognizant of what a king is and act regal.

From Sargon, though Arthur, and of course the goddam Windsors who are simply woke pussies. A king is a king ... unless you're not — as the Windsors are compelled to demonstrate at every pussified turn.

Wimps. Stand up and rule ... Be a King, Charles III. Not this faker you are.

Get those goddam muslims and adherents to islam out of your country, coward Windsors. Send them back to the nothing deserts from whence they came. Let them go be with Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi whom they murdered.

Oh yeah, in these days it really isn't wise to bring a stick to a gun fight, either.

Snow Dusting last Night
Snow on a Pine bough
Yeah, the much anticipated snow was pretty much a dusting and we have enjoyed the mess as an interlude in the winter cold — which has had a bit of a bite to it.

Mom arose and watched it from her kitchen and sipped her coffee.

I trudged through it a little to get back and forth from my house to hers.

All in all it was interesting but certainly nothing I would call spectacular.

Something about the weatherman's description and the actual event was lost in the translation.

Happy snow day anyway !

Dance of the Seven Veils Day 2025
    salome
One of the earliest Bible stories I encountered in my childhood was the murder of John the Baptist by Herod Antipas.

The king ordered The Baptist beheaded after being influenced by his wife Herodias and her daughter Salomé.

The Dance of the Seven Veils was performed by Salomé.

It is a Middle-Eastern dance similar to belly dancing.

The performer typically wears a bikini top, pantaloons, bracelets, anklets, rings, and sometimes, a pair of finger cymbals. Scarves are also prominent in the dance routine.

Herod was so taken by Salomé doing the dance he promised her whatever she wanted. She in return requested the head of John the Baptist on a platter.

The Romano-Jewish historian Josephus named her as the reason John The Bapist was murdered, but he does not mention the dance.

Regardless, John is in Heaven, Herod, Herodias and Salomé are accountable to the One True God, whose name is "I Am" and not "I was".

Squirrel Appreciation Day 2025
Red Fox Squirrel
Yeah, I cohabitate with quite a squirrel population. In my yard I have about 20 or so gray squirrels who think they own the pine and oak trees and they pretty much stay away from my house and out of my hair otherwise.

To reward them for abstaining from nesting in my attic I give them segments of bread loaves and they can be seen ferrying them up the side of the trees in which they live. I add peanuts and other things to this and hopefully we will endure each other as best we can.

I used to take a much more heavy handed approach to them, until my best friend, Sam chastised me roundly and called me cruel. So now I don't catch or hurt them in any way. They still exhibit a lot of fear of me nonetheless.

Today is Squirrel Appreciation Day. It is held each January 21st under the auspices of Ashville wildlife rehabilitation specialist one Christy Hargrove.

It is a day "to learn about and celebrate the world’s cutest rodents".

These animals have been introduced to various areas in the country to promote interest and this has given rise to accusations of "invasive species" and have caused some vitriol among various people who live here.

I have attempted to locate and import red and black fox squirrels to no avail. Perhaps my reputation preceeds me.

So despite our best efforts, the imported squirrel exists in our midst and I personally believe they are here to stay.

Trump/Vance Inauguration 2025
    Donald Trump Oath of Office
The inauguration of Donald Trump and J D Vance has finally arrived.

We will now jettison the incompetent, unscrupulous, and immoral embarassment to the nation Joseph Biden who defecates upon himself before heads of state — as well as his crime family who is an enemy of the state yet nobody has taken him and his dirtbag wife, son, and brothers to GITMO where they deserve to be placed on bread and water for the rest of their miserable felonious lives.

The event will include a performance artist and will take place in the Capitol Rotunda due to cold weather forecasts.

J D Vance Oath of Office
The inauguration was today, with the swearing-in ceremony expected having been completed.

I arose at 4 am this morning from the excitement associated with anticipation of the ceremonies.

I am so glad the Biden Harris debacle is over.

There remains the work of fixing the entire mess made of the nation by the democrats who were controlling this puppet leadership. The work of uncovering who has been responsible for which dastardly policies set into place during this run with the devil.

There remains the consequences of what has been done to damage the Republic.

The lawfare. The unscrupulous immorality of the democratic regime in place under the guise of a carrot named Joe Biden.

The third Kenyan pervert Obama presidency was made possible by this toad.

No, we will not forget.

Trump / Vance

Martin Luther King Jr Day 2025
    Dr Martin Luther King Jr
Martin Luther King Jr Day is one of those federal holidays in the United States designed to self agrandize the slave race and place us in the simulation of reparations for the past sins of ancestors.

While I have never owned another person or really sought to I feel that there is an attempt to hold me accountable for the actions of others beyond my control. I'm sorry but responsibility does not pass down lines of heredity regardless of how much you claim this to be so ...

While the blacks are so ready to leap upon affixing blame to all white men for slavery in the United States I am one to lay it at the feet of the perpetrators and call it a day.

It was the Dutch Slave Traders who brought the black man to the United States to be owned by the stupid crackers who would do business with them. This could have and should have been curtailed at several levels but wasn't because the leadership of the nation was just as sorry as the general populace from a standpoint of humanity and ethics. Something I might add which continues to this day ...

As I find the entire notion of slavery unseemly the stupid ranting idiot N-words go on with their white supremacy beliefs that white people (think they are) are superior to those of other races and thus should dominate them.

One should never attempt to tell me what I may or not say OR when I may say it. I use the words I choose for emphasis more so than offense. However, if you are offended, so be it. I'm not going to put up with you much beyond this and I like the rough stuff.

I don't feel superior. Believe me, if I did I would tell you. This white supremacy thing favors maintaining and defending any power and privilege held by white people. White supremacy has origins in the now-discredited doctrine of "scientific" aka "biological" racism whereby the human species is taxonomically divided into races and that there is empirical evidence for the justification of racial discrimination as well as racial inferiority or superiority, and was a key justification for European colonialism and debunked as pseudoscience. This is what your Harvard and your Yale and the pitiful remainder of your so-called 'ivy league' have given you snapperheads.

This self annointed "superiority" has only been aided and abetted by those stupid blacks who just go on and on about it regardless of the truth or regardless of relevancy. If they would just pipe down and limit their attacks to logic and things proven they would fair much better in this ridiculous fray.

So now, on the third Monday of January each year we have marches to the statehouse in honor of Dr King. His was a nonviolent spin on activism during the civil rights mess — which I feel continues to this day regardless of what you call it.

Dr King was always someone I have wanted sit and speak with because I have agreed with much he espoused during his life time and I feel he was taken out by a coward with a rifle just for stating his views.

I believe we have a right to express our views and should be able to make them known without fear of being murdered as Dr King was. Concurrently, I have also been pretty irate over the loss of his father by Dexter King, whom I saw cry while speaking about his father years ago when I was much younger and more impressionable than I am today. It touched my heart and he too had a pround effect on my attitudes toward race relations and civil rights in general. Dexter King deserved to be with his father much longer than the assassin permitted.

So happy Martin Luther King Jr Day anyway. Martin Luther King Jr didn't have to die for his beliefs but some others calling themselves "men" wouldn't have it any other way.
