The Evil We Do …

Friday, August 27th, 2010

One Michael Enright of Brewster, New York was transported from Rikers Island to Bellevue Thursday evening.

This college squirt accused of playing slasher on a Muslim taxi driver in New York has been placed in a Psych ward — probably where he belongs until he’s straightened out.

When I saw the picture of this kid he hardly looks the part of a hardened criminal; much less likely needing to become a bad man’s boyfriend in prison.

He was allegedly drunk and incoherent at the time of his arrest for attacking a Bangladeshi cab driver. He is said to have said some phrase in Arabic then stabbed the driver in the neck and face.

Police reports said that after arrest he was taken to a hospital for psych evaluation and is remanded to jail without bail on hate crime charges.

I wonder just what this guy’s story is.

While there is a segment of the Muslim population — namely Al Qaeda and the Taliban and certain other extremist elements which are barbaric brigands out to maim and murder in the name of Allah we simply cannot be a nation which permits everyone of the same religious persuasion to be held accountable for the crimes of 9/11 and the insurgency of war.

Those responsible for crimes against others should be brought to justice. The innocent are simply that: innocent. Religion has little to nothing to do with the crimes committed by the extremists.

Their primary complaint is meddling in the affairs of Muslim nations by US foreign policy.

This cabbie was simply trying to earn a living and live the same dream we all want for ourselves and our families.

The venom spew concerning ground zero Mosques and other elements of Islamophobia — coupled with the very real in your face threats posed in public demonstrations are certainly a catalyst for this type of behavior. How consideration for a Mosque at the site of the New York atrocity could be posed is neither here nor there … we have an obligation that if there is any conquering to do we’ll do it thank you very much.

A Mosque at ground zero is an indication that the Islam extremists have conquered us. The very thought of such nonsense is enough to send anyone off the deep end.

I hope they help this kid.

First Siting of the Loch Ness Monster

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

In Ireland there were twelve monks known for introducing Christianity into the region when it was largely a collection of pagans rites and rituals.

Known as the Twelve Apostles of Ireland, these included Saint Columba who is known for miracles, prophecies, and the establishment of monasteries in the region.

His life is chronicled in a work known as The vita of Columba and contains a story that has been interpreted as the first recorded reference to an encounter with the Loch Ness Monster which happened this date in 565 AD.

According to Adomnán, Columba came across a group of Picts who were burying a “wretched fellow” who had been killed by the monster in the River Ness — which flows into the loch.

He also saved a swimmer with the sign of the Cross and the command “You will go no further,” at which the monster fled in terror. This amazed those Picts present who glorified Columba’s God.

Saint Columba
December 7, 521 AD – June 9 597

aka Colum Cille (Irish for “Dove of the Church”)
aka Calum Cille (Scottish Gaelic)
aka Kolban (Old Norse for “Black Bear”)

Gaelic Irish missionary monk who propagated Christianity among the Picts during the Early Medieval Period. He was one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland.

His parents were Fedhlimidh and Eithne of the Ui Neill clan in Gartan (aka Donegal).

Columba was an outstanding figure among the Gaelic missionary monks and is said to have introduced Christianity to the Kingdom of the Picts during the early medieval period.

Taliban Stones Afghan Couple for Eloping

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Remember

The Taliban, that fundamentalist Islamic militia which took over Afghanistan in 1995 then Kabul in 1996 and set up an Islamic government has stoned an Afghan couple to death for adultery in a public execution.

This stoning episode will result in mass anxiety regarding the political developments in the region. The woman who was named Sadiqa was 20 years old and engaged to another man according to the Kunduz provincial police chief.

Her consort was named Qayum, a 28 year old who left his wife to run away with her.

They were sequestered in a friend’s home when they were discovered by Taliban operatives last Sunday then stoned to death before a crowd of about 150 men. No court. No trial. No human rights. Just hearsay and murder for eloping.

Why? Because like their German Nazi counterparts before them there is no one there to tell the Taliban “NO“.

The militant group purporting the work of God ordered this stoning after a married man and a single woman in Dasht-e-Archi district, Kunduz province, were accused of eloping.

The Taliban and other insurgent groups “are growing increasingly brutal in their heinous abuses of Afghans” orchestrated as the “will of God” but demonstrating the cruel “traditions of men”.

Human rights and reconciliation with the Taliban are not a viable combination according to Amnesty International.

Why? Because the insurgent Taliban and other elements of extremist muslim culture will view it as weakness and take the opportunity to both overrun and murder you. They like it.

Carnage is the name of the game in a society where profane permutations of a fictitious afterlife are touted as just reward for murdering, maiming, and general havoc and terror.

The Taliban is accused of conducting killing campaigns against government supporters. It is said that they murder on average a person a day.

Why? Because the evil Taliban and other elements of extremist muslim culture aren’t held accountable for their actions and therefore there is no reason to stop their regime of murder and mayhem.

They specifically target:

  • local officials
  • military translators
  • police
  • teachers
  • women going to work
  • girls going to school

Why? Because they can do so with impunity.

Feast of the Transfiguration

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Today is the Feast of the Transfiguration. This feast is celebrated on The Transfiguration of Jesus is an event reported by the Synoptic Gospels in which Jesus is transfigured upon Mount Tabor in the presence of Peter, James and John — who were instructed by Christ to remain silent about what they had seen afterward.

Jesus became radiant with the Shekinah (the visible majesty of divine presence), interacted with both Elijah, the prophet, and Moses, the law giver — and was called “Son” by God, who instructed the disciples to heed the words of Christ. It is one of the miracles of Christ in the Gospels.

Transfiguration is the manifestation of conversion from a physical to a spiritual body in people. There have been very few people upon whom God has chosen to impart this phenomenon; for it typically is an indication of divine favor.

The feast is celebrated on:

  • August 6 by the Catholic Church and Anglican Church
  • August 19 in the Eastern Orthodox Church
  • the Sunday before Lent in most Protestant churches

The transfiguration is central to the understanding of Christ joining the human and the divine. The notion of transfiguration marks the historical event when God became present in Christ’s body, which occurred as Christ left his followers to pray.

1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8 And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

Finding the Body of Saint Stephen

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Today is the anniversary of the finding of the body of St. Stephen; who was the first Christian martyr. His body was found in the year 415 some 20 miles out on the outskirts of Jerusalem.

Acting on information given to him during a sequence of two visions involving a man who called him by name, a respected priest named Lucien took the matter of the remains of St. Stephen and other servants of Christ being buried beneath the ruins of an old tomb the place called Caphargamala — which was where his church stood — to his Bishop, who was named John.

The Bishop knew of a heap of small stones which lay in a field adjacent to the church and he concluded that this must be the spot of the holy relics of which Lucien spoke.

There three coffins were unearthed and several local officials of the church came to the place to bear witness to the events.

When St. Stephen’s coffin was opened the earth shook. An amazing and wonderful fragrance eminated from it as it was opened like no other ever experienced by those present.

There was a great number of witnesses some of whom were affected with all manner of illness, disease, and injuries. Seventy three were healed upon the spot.

The relics were taken to the Church of Sion in Jerusalem except for a small number which were left at the church where they were found accompanied by the singing of psalms and hymns along the route.

Islamophobia

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Dove World Outreach Center has announced that it intends to host an “International Burn a Quran Day” for the incendiary immolation of the Quran — that book containing the sacred writings of Islam said to be revealed by God to the prophet Muhammad during his life at Mecca and Medina. Pastor Terry Jones has said that the congregation of the Dove World Outreach Center feels that Islam is “a religion of the devil”. The National Association of Evangelicals is asking the church to cancel the event. The Council of American-Islamic Relations is asking Muslims to attempt efforts at educating the public at large.

While l am not into burning books of any kind and lean toward more moderate Christian attitudes with an emphasis on peaceful coexistence when possible; I have to say that the Taliban, and Al Qaeda and the other extremists in countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Indonesia, and sub-Saharan Africa have wrought this type of attitude in others. Until that time the Muslim community can better control it’s collective behavior regarding the murder and mayhem it would impart on both it’s adherents and the rest of the world, I’m afraid that criticizing the opposite end of the theological spectrum becomes merely a moot point. The Taliban singularly is the most murderous destructive so-called “religious” entity on the face of this Earth and if the sandal fits it should certainly be worn as appropriate.

Islam is of the Devil

Frequently asked questions

Tell us about the church, Dove World Outreach Center and about what the belief of the church is?

We are a New Testament, Charismatic, Non-Denominational Church that believes in the whole Bible and that we are to act in response to the word of God in order to change the times we are living in. Those times have gotten further and futher (sic) away from God; full of deception like abortion and same sex marriages.

Why would the Church put up such a sign?

To expose Islam for what it is. It is a violent and oppressive religion that is trying to mascarade (sic) itself as a religion of peace, seeking to deceive our society.

What is the reason or message the Church wants to get out with a sign such as that?

The message of the truth that there is only one way to God, only one way to salvation, and that is through the blood of Jesus. Through the repenting of your sins and being born again. It is time that all Christians unite, stop being passive and selfish and stand up and fight for the truth.

What is your response to those offended by the sign or the message of the sign?

The truth should never offend us. We should embrace the truth. That is the foundation of our country and that is the only way to true freedom. Islam is a lie based upon lies and deceptions and fear. In Muslim countries, if you preach the gospel or convert to Christianity – you will be killed. That is the type of religion it is.

Reprobus, The Saint of Lycia

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Reprobus, also known as “Christopher” was a Canaanite said to be 7.5 feet (2.3 m) tall. It is said that his face was described as fearsome.

He was serving the king of Canaan when he got the idea that he should serve the greatest king there was.

Upon serving this king he discovered that the ruler feared the devil and thus set out to find and serve the devil — who was greater than the king. He encountered a band of outlaws learning one of them referred to himself as the devil where upon Christopher decided to serve him.

It was during that service that Christopher learned that the devil feared Christ and that was the point in time where he made the decision to serve Him.

He encountered a hermit who gave him instruction in Christianity. Christopher inquired as to how he could serve Christ. The hermit suggested fasting and prayer which Christopher rejected saying that he could not perform that type of service.

Then the hermit implied that due to size and strength Christopher could serve Christ by assisting people in crossing a dangerous river where many were perishing in the attempt. The hermit assured Christopher that this service would also be pleasing to Christ.

Christopher had been performing this service for some time when a small child asked him to carry him across the river. During that crossing, the river became swollen and the child seemed as heavy as lead, so much so that Christopher could scarcely carry him to the point that he found himself in great difficulty.

Finally upon reaching the other side, he said to the child:

“You have put me in the greatest danger. I do not think the whole world could have been as heavy on my shoulders as you were.”

The child replied:

“You had on your shoulders not only the whole world but Him who made it. I am Christ your King, whom you are serving by this work.”

The child then vanished.

Christopher later visited the city of Lycia and there comforted the Christians who were being martyred. He was brought before the local king who commanded him to sacrifice to the pagan gods.

Upon his repeated refusal, that king tried to win him with riches and by the attention of two beautiful women in an effort to tempt him. Christopher converted both of the women to Christianity, as he had already converted thousands in the city.

The king ordered him to be killed. Various attempts failed, but finally Christopher was beheaded after numerous episodes of other physical torture.

In the West, the feast of Saint Christopher in the Calendar of Saints is held today.
